Greenlight Safe Kids: the location and safety features

Layered on top of the card app, Greenlight’s safety suite turns it into a family-locator as well as a money tool. Per Greenlight’s official pages, it includes:

• Real-time location sharing — see where family members are, with independence-respecting controls.
• Place alerts — get notified when a kid leaves school or arrives home.
• One-swipe SOS — send an alert to emergency contacts, 911, or both, in a single swipe.
• Crash detection and driving reports — for older teens who drive, with 911 dispatch check-in.

Which plan you need

This is the key practical detail: the full location-and-safety suite sits on the Greenlight Infinity plan, not the entry tiers. The Core and Max plans center on the card, controls and money features; the safety stack — location, place alerts, SOS, crash detection — is an Infinity feature. The new Safe Family GPS device (2026)

In 2026, Greenlight launched its first physical product: Greenlight Safe Family, a screen-free GPS device. The Safe Kids version gives GPS location and one-tap emergency alerts without handing a child a phone — useful for younger kids not ready for a device. There are also Safe Seniors (fall detection, SOS) and Safe Pets (GPS) variants. It’s separate hardware, sold apart from the card subscription, so treat it as its own purchase decision.

Is the tracker reason enough to choose Greenlight?
